Mary Margaret Stewart is a recent alum of the University of Georgia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. During her college career, she spent her summers living in Toccoa and working as a Summer Staffer at Camp Mikell. From her time with Camp Mikell, she has experience leading and building programs for children and youth, ages 5-18.

Mary Margaret is a cradle Episcopalian, born and raised in the church, and she was involved in everything from serving as an acolyte, children’s and youth choir, VBS, Sunday school, Youth Group, Wednesday night dinners, and more. She was called to do ministry in the Diocese of Atlanta with a purpose to guide young people on their faith journeys and make an impact on the next generation of Christians, much like the role some of her church community members had in her life as a kid and adolescent.

In addition to her work with St. Paul’s Newnan, Mary Margaret works as the Staff Writer at The Shelby Report in Gainesville. Prior to that, she was Assistant Editor for Decaturish.com for 4 years. She’s passionate about her work in the journalism realm, from meeting new people and listening to their stories, to capturing pictures and turning interviews into stories for publication.

Mary Margaret lives in Brookhaven with two of her longtime friends from Camp Mikell. In her free time, she loves listening to podcasts, going on hikes, and playing with her two kittens, Mimi and Rhaena.
