Associate RectorMother Nicole is St. Paul’s Associate Rector, serving children, youth, young families, and overseeing innovative ministries.
Nicole brings more than twenty years of ministry and nonprofit leadership experience in the United States, the Middle East, and South Asia. She holds a Doctor of Ministry degree focused on contemplative life and congregational renewal, as well as a Master of Theology from Candler School of Theology at Emory University and a Master of Practical Theology from Winebrenner Theological Seminary.
She is also a writer whose work explores contemplative spirituality, formation, and everyday faith through both academic research and personal essays. Her writing can be found at nicoletwalters.com.
Her passion for spiritual formation, contemplative practice, and storytelling shapes her approach to ministry. She loves creating spaces where people can encounter God more deeply in prayer, community, and everyday life. Prior to pursuing her call to Holy Orders, Nicole served for over a decade in nonprofit communications, helping organizations and communities share stories of faith, transformation, and hope.
Nicole is married to Lee, and they have two teenage children, Nadia and Aidan. When she’s not at church, you can usually find her reading, writing, or streaming a show with Odin, the family dachshund, curled up nearby. She enjoys hiking, the arts, and sharing a long conversation over a good cup of coffee.
